Disney World’s New Laundry Plant Means More Jobs

Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL has begun construction on a new laundry facility at the park. The new laundry facility is being built because of expansion at the resort and to accommodate changes in the types of textiles and linens used at the resort. It will be the park’s fourth laundry facility, and according to the company, one of the most technologically advanced laundry facilities in the world.

This newest expansion at Disney World illustrates how the laundry industry grows alongside lateral growth and development. In this case, new facilities and new hotels mean newer, larger facilities, and different textiles in different applications mean new equipment to process them.

The construction of a new laundry facility also means new jobs to go along with it. A new facility needs people working at every stage of the process from the time laundry goes in the door until it comes back out again. In Disney’s case, that means around 400 new jobs will be created just for the laundry facility alone.

We see the same type of growth in the laundry industry everywhere. New businesses, industrial spaces, hotels, hospitals, clinics, restaurants—they all need laundry service of some kind. Plus, all of these industries (including our own) are constantly changing and improving themselves, making it critical for everyone to keep up with the times.
